Bio Microneedling at Femme Laser Clinic
Bio microneedling uses SQT silica spicules, derived from freshwater sponge, massaged into the skin by hand. There is no device and there are no metal needles. The spicules create thousands of microscopic channels as they are worked in, which prompts the same renewal response without a motorised pen.

Expect visible flaking for a few days as the skin turns over. That is the treatment working rather than a reaction, and it is worth planning around if you have something on that week.

Conventional microneedling uses a motorised pen with metal needles. Bio microneedling uses silica spicules massaged in by hand — no device, no needles. The main practical difference is that it can be used on active breakouts, where a pen would risk spreading bacteria.
Can it be used on active acne?
Yes. That is one of the reasons we offer it. It treats active breakouts as well as the texture and marks left behind, which is not true of needling with a pen.
Will my skin flake afterwards?
Usually yes, for a few days, as the skin turns over. It is expected rather than a reaction. If you have an event that week it is worth booking around it.
