Facial hair behaves differently from body hair. It is usually finer, often lighter, and sits in shallower follicles, which is why a setting tuned for coarse leg hair can pass straight over it without doing much.
The FEMME 4D combines four wavelengths in one ice-cooled handpiece. For the face we lean on 755 nm, the wavelength with the highest affinity for melanin and the most effective of the four on fine, thin and light-coloured hair in superficial follicles.
Facial skin is thinner and more reactive than body skin, so continuous epidermal cooling runs throughout the pass. The area is small, which keeps sessions short, and your technician confirms your Fitzpatrick skin type before choosing the wavelength emphasis.
Why Femme for facial laser hair removal
755 nm for fine hair
The wavelength with the strongest melanin absorption, which is what fine and light facial hair needs to respond at all.
Cooling on delicate skin
The handpiece runs continuous ice cooling, so the epidermis stays protected across an area where skin is thin.
Short, focused sessions
The treatment area is small, so appointments are quick and easy to fit around work.
The device your session runs on
Every laser hair removal treatment is performed on the FEMME 4D, a Health Canada and FDA approved diode laser that blends four wavelengths (755, 808, 940 and 1064 nm) in a single ice-cooled pass.
- Safe for every skin tone, Fitzpatrick I to VI
- Sapphire tip cooled to -5°C, most clients feel warmth, not pain
- Large 12 x 20 mm spot treats areas fast: 15 to 25 minutes per session
- 80 to 90 percent hair reduction across a full treatment course
Facial laser hair removal pricing
Per session, with six-session package prices alongside. Identical at every Femme Laser Clinic.
Prices in CAD. The limited-time $175/session bundle covers face & neck, underarms, full arms, full legs and Brazilian.
How a course of facial sessions works
Every course starts with a consultation and patch test. You shave the area a day or two beforehand, the cooled handpiece makes its pass, and sessions repeat four to six weeks apart because only follicles in their active growth phase respond to any one session. Most people complete six to ten.
The protocol is the same at every Femme clinic and is set out step by step in our laser hair removal guide.
Facial laser hair removal questions
How many sessions will facial hair need?
Facial hair typically needs a course rather than one visit, because only follicles in their active growth phase respond to each session. Your technician sets the number and spacing after assessing your hair and skin type.
Does it work on light or grey facial hair?
The laser targets melanin, so very light, grey or white hair responds poorly no matter which wavelength is used. We will tell you honestly at consultation if your hair is unlikely to respond.
Can I wear makeup afterwards?
The skin is usually a little pink immediately after. Your technician gives you aftercare guidance at the appointment, including when to resume makeup and sun protection.
Is the upper lip painful?
The upper lip is more sensitive than most areas, but the handpiece cools the skin continuously through the pass, and settings are adjusted for comfort.
