New locationWhat laser hair removal actually does
Laser hair removal works by targeting the pigment in the hair follicle with light. The follicle absorbs the energy, heats, and stops producing hair. Because it acts on the follicle rather than the surface, results build over a course of sessions rather than appearing after one.
Every Femme clinic runs the same device and the same protocol, so the treatment you get in Windsor is the treatment you get in Ottawa. Pricing is published rather than quoted on the day, and each clinic is staffed by a named technician rather than a rotating pool.
The FEMME 4D, in every clinic
The FEMME 4D is a Health Canada and FDA approved diode laser that blends four wavelengths — 755, 808, 940 and 1064 nm — in a single ice-cooled pass. The combination is what makes it safe across the full range of skin tones, including deeper tones that older single-wavelength systems could not treat safely. A 12 x 20 mm spot size covers larger areas quickly, so most sessions run 15 to 25 minutes. You can read the full specification on FEMME 4D.
What a session involves
1. Consultation and patch test
We assess your skin on the Fitzpatrick scale, review your medical history, and patch test before any full session.
2. Shave, do not wax
Shave the area the day before. Waxing or plucking removes the follicle the laser needs to target.
3. The treatment pass
The handpiece is cooled to around -5°C, so most clients report warmth rather than pain.
4. Aftercare
Avoid sun exposure and hot showers for 48 hours. We send full aftercare when you book.
5. Repeat on your hair cycle
Hair grows in cycles, so sessions are spaced four to six weeks apart. Most people see 80 to 90 percent reduction across a full course.
Laser Hair Removal questions we hear most
How many sessions will I need?
Most people need six to ten sessions for a full course, spaced four to six weeks apart. Hair grows in cycles and the laser only affects follicles in the active growth phase, which is why a single session cannot treat everything.
Does it work on dark skin?
Yes. The FEMME 4D combines four wavelengths, including 1064 nm, which is the wavelength used to treat deeper skin tones safely. We assess your skin on the Fitzpatrick scale and set the parameters accordingly.
Does it hurt?
The handpiece is ice-cooled to around -5°C. Most clients describe warmth or a light snap rather than pain, and sessions are short.
Is it permanent?
Laser hair removal is a permanent reduction rather than permanent removal. After a full course most people keep 80 to 90 percent reduction, with occasional maintenance sessions.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is published per area and as packages, starting from $25 a session. The same prices apply at every clinic.

Prices are published rather than quoted on the day, and they are the same at every clinic. See the full list on the pricing page, or message us on WhatsApp and we will send the figures for the areas you are asking about.
