New locationWhat chemical peel actually does
A chemical peel uses an acid solution to loosen the bonds between dead surface cells so they shed evenly, revealing newer skin underneath and prompting turnover. It is one of the older cosmetic treatments and remains one of the most reliable for tone and pigmentation.
Strength matters more than brand. A peel that is too strong for your skin causes damage rather than results, and one that is too mild does nothing. We assess your skin first and start conservatively, building strength across a series rather than pushing depth in one appointment.
Matched to your skin, not sold by grade
Peels are assessed on the Fitzpatrick scale before anything is applied, because deeper skin tones carry a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation when a peel is taken too deep too quickly. We start conservatively and build across a series. If your skin is not a good candidate — active eczema, recent isotretinoin, or an unsettled barrier — we will tell you before you book rather than after.
What a session involves
1. Assessment and history
Fitzpatrick assessment, medication review, and a patch test where appropriate.
2. Cleanse and degrease
The skin is prepped so the solution acts evenly rather than in patches.
3. Application
The solution is applied and timed. You will feel warmth and tingling.
4. Neutralise
The peel is neutralised and the skin is calmed.
5. Aftercare
Strict sun avoidance and SPF. Peeling typically starts on day two or three.

How much peeling should I expect?
It varies with strength. Light peels often produce only mild flaking around day two or three; stronger peels produce visible shedding for several days. We tell you which to expect before you book.
Is it safe for darker skin tones?
Yes, with the right strength and a conservative build. Deeper tones carry a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which is why we assess on the Fitzpatrick scale and do not take a peel deep in a single appointment.
How many will I need?
Tone and pigmentation usually respond across a series of four to six, spaced three to four weeks apart. A single peel gives a short-term glow rather than a lasting change.
Can I have one before an event?
Not in the same week. Book at least two weeks ahead so any shedding has fully finished.
What should I avoid afterwards?
Sun exposure, retinoids, exfoliants and hot showers for the first week. SPF daily is not optional after a peel.
